Excerpt from a project diary
August 8th 2007.
A letter sent to a local mailing list by Nebojsa Milikic, Program editor of Cultural Center REX:
Dear friends, I would like to inform you about the most beautiful exhibition opening I have attained in last 10 years… the work of Nikoleta Markovic realized in cooperation with residents and placed in the entrance hall of the residential building, lead to an unusual gathering of people from inside and outside of building; meetings of an outstanding sense and energy which are not possible in any other occasion; maybe because Nikoleta’s work has nothing to do with banal building obligations or classical comprehension of artistic practice (cabinets de curiosites), persistently called contemporary art by the people I hang out and cooperate with; and maybe because art and art work inauguration is a ``meeting place``, reaction between real and possible, visible and invisible, repressed and actual … absolutely impossible meetings and interviews in Solunska 36, until yesterday, were for me and as I could see and realize for the most of the participants, the two hours of third world…
Due to that: cheers!August 31st 2007
